HANGING PULLOVERS – YOU HAVE TO SEE TO BELIEVE!
We all know that when you hang up your sweaters, they stretch and these nasty dimples stand up.
This folding hack will put an end to this and also clear the drawer room where your sweaters were located.
First lay your sweater flat and smooth it out. Fold the sweater vertically in half so that the sleeves are stacked on top of each other. Place your hanger so that the hook area is between the sweater body and the arms.
Fold the sweater body over the hanger and put it under the bottom of the hanger. Repeat with the sleeves.
Often I will hang my underwear or other clothes that I wear under the sweater through the bar with the sweater.
That's all. Simple and done. Now you can hang up your sweaters without worrying about damaging them. It is so much easier to choose a sweater if you can see it easily.
CASHMERE
Cashmere should be cared for as you would for your hair. Hand wash in cold water with a good splash of shampoo. Gently push the foam through and then squeeze it out, but do not wring it out. Rinse in cool water and squeeze again instead of squeezing. Rinse a second time with clear, cold water. Gently squeeze the water out and then roll it in a towel to remove as much water as possible. Form and dry flat from sunlight.
DAZZLE
These are sweaters with cotton, polyester and other fibers. If the care label says “washable,” you need to do the following. Turn them over and wash them in cold water on a gentle cycle. Dry as indicated on the care label. If you put them in the dryer, leave them the wrong side out until you fold them.
DECORATED
Sweaters that can be set with pearls, sequins, etc. must be given special care. Always wash them by hand. If your washing machine has a hand washing function, put the sweater, which is turned the wrong way, in a delicate or laundry bag. Use a mild detergent and liquid fabric softener. Dry according to instructions.
KEEP IT-FREE WOOL
Woolen sweaters often itch when they come into contact with the skin. To fix this problem, wash the product as indicated on the care label, but rinse it out with a few tablespoons of glycerin. Find glycerin in the hand cream section of the drugstore. This keeps the garment soft and prevents itching.
REFRESHING PULLOVERS: If you want to freshen up a sweater without washing it or getting it dry-cleaned, try Woolite Dry Cleaners Secret or Dryel. It is used in the tumble dryer to refresh the sweater. It is not a real cleaner or stain remover, but it will help you get more wear on clothes. Use as directed and shop in places like Walmart, Walgreens and Target, and Amazon.
PILLS ON YOUR SWEATER: Use a cheap razor to gently shave the unsightly pills.
