Now in its 13th year in Australia, brands are being invited to enter their best and most innovative products into Product of the Year, the “World's Largest Consumer Voted Awards Program,” to win one of the coveted award categories.
To be eligible, products must be launched between October 2019 and May 31, 2021 and demonstrate innovation through their packaging, function or design.
“The Product of the Year always encourages brand new products and small businesses, as well as existing products that have been customized, redesigned or changed.
"In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, many Australian brands have adapted their designs and products to meet the changing needs of consumers. We are therefore certain that some incredibly innovative products will hit the market in 2022."
Past winners of the prestigious awards have been in a variety of categories such as beauty, health, food and home care, crowning well-known brand names such as Coles, Gillette, Nescafé and Palmolive, as well as emerging boutique brand names.
“The easily recognizable Product of the Year logo has proven to be a strong marketing message for the winners, whose sales usually increase by an average of 10 to 15%.” The winning products will be announced in November 2021 and receive the right to be named Product of the Year -Seal to use in marketing communications for one year.
Product of the Year Australia's Managing Director Sarah Connelly says, “The annual awards have become an integral part of marketing for both brands and consumers who source quality products. In 2020, many brands have recalibrated their business models and goals to fit into a challenging consumer landscape. We are therefore very excited to see the many outstanding products that have been developed as a result. "
For the 2022 awards program, the Product of the Year is pleased to welcome back its brand new category entitled "Ones To Watch", which honors innovative products from smaller companies or start-ups that may not have the budget or the Sales in place to join the full awards program.
Considering that many companies are still recovering from the challenges of 2020 and are trying to cut costs whenever possible, the Product of the Year has chosen to support companies by participating in the Product of the Year 2022 is made as accessible as possible for entry through price cuts. The new program fees will be reduced to:
- $ 3,500 Nielsen Research Fee that features a unique survey of over 5000 customers and their thoughts on your products.
- $ 15,000 winner fee.
Brands entering the "Ones to Watch" category only have to pay the research fee, not the winning fee.
The reduced fees are part of Product of the Year's efforts to advocate for innovative brands in Australia while recognizing the financial hardships many faced after 2020.
In Australia, the Product of the Year seal is backed by the votes of more than 5,000 consumers and is designed to provide shoppers with a time and money-saving shortcut that leads them to the best products on the shelves.
