TRSA recently hired Samlane Ketevong to lead its certification programs. Ketevong joins the association's employees in the newly created role of Senior Director of Certification and Accreditation and leads the TRSA certification programs including Clean Green, Hygienically Clean and individual certification programs such as the Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM).

In this role, Ketevong will lead and oversee the certification and recertification process as well as facilitate and implement strategic objectives for each certification program, including annual operating plans and three to five year targets. She will speak to subject matter experts about the regular development and revision of standards, inspection programs, exam development, self-paced materials and professional tests. In addition, Ketevong will ensure that all TRSA certification programs adhere to guidelines and procedures related to accreditation and will make efforts to achieve the status of an Organization for Developing Standards from the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Ketevong will report directly to Joseph Ricci, President & CEO of TRSA.

"I am very excited to join the TRSA team and look forward to enhancing their certification programs and raising awareness of the need for cleaner, safer and more environmentally conscious facilities," said Ketevong. "If we get out of this pandemic, we can change the world and make it safer – one organization at a time."

Ketevong comes to TRSA with over 15 years of experience running eligibility review programs, interacting with subject matter experts and accreditation institutions, and managing events. Previously, Ketevong was Director of Certification Services for the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics and Pedorthics (ABC). During her tenure at ABC, she rose from program assistant to manager and eventually director.

"Samlane brings experience and enthusiasm to this new role," said Joseph Ricci, President and CEO of TRSA. “She will work closely with Angela Freeman, Director of Certification, and the various stakeholders to develop strategic and marketing communication plans for each program. Samlane will also help TRSA gain recognition as a standards development company and work closely with our European Standards Working Group. "

Ketevong holds a bachelor's degree in business management from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. She also received a Certificate of Credentials Specialist from the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.
