Now, in its 12th year, POY (Product of the Year) awards have officially started looking for the winners of 2021.

Brands are invited to enter their latest and most innovative products in the awards to win one of the coveted price categories.

"The awards have grown exponentially since we brought them to Australia over a decade ago," said Sarah Connelly, managing director of the Australian Product of the Year.

To be eligible, products must be launched between December 1, 2018 and May 31, 2020. The products must demonstrate innovation through their function, design or packaging. Brand new products as well as existing products that have adapted or added extended use, such as: B. an additional ingredient, a redesigned pack or a new formula or a new aroma are always asked to participate.

Former winners were featured in various categories such as beauty, health, food and home care, crowned by well-known brands such as Palmolive, San Remo, Dilmah, Messy Monkeys and Seeds of Change.

"It is so exciting to see how many brands and companies launch their innovative products each year when they understand and respond to how consumer decisions have evolved," said Connelly.

The widely recognizable product of the year logo has proven to be a strong marketing message for the winners, whose sales usually increase by an average of 10% to 15%.

The winning products will be announced in November 2020 and will be given the right to use the POY seal in marketing communications for one year.

Ms. Connelly says that the new category title added to the One to Watch award list "… gives these smaller companies and startups the opportunity to benefit from nationwide research, providing insight into how consumers perceive their product and of course have the chance to be crowned "One to Watch" award winner at the Product of the Year Awards for 2021.
