Amazon Australia donates more than $ 220,000 worth of products, gift cards, and Christmas presents to farming families in need across the country.
This is part of the partnership with the nonprofit company Drought Angels.
2,000 families will receive a $ 100 gift card from Amazon.com.au, and five families will receive a $ 5,000-10,000 Christmas basket of the best Christmas presents of the year.
The victorious singer and songwriter Guy Sebastian and his wife, stylist, philanthropist and author Jules Sebastian join Amazon.
The couple have teamed up with Amazon and Drought Angels to deliver the first Christmas basket to a farming family in Cudgewa, Victoria who was hit by this year's bushfire crisis and personal tragedy.
Louise Middleton, diagnosed with colon cancer in 2019, her husband Ian and their two teenage daughters Grace and Genevieve are big fans of the Sebastian.
"2020 really devastated our family as we faced tremendous losses, challenges and suffering," said Ms. Middleton.
“But the incredible donation from Amazon Australia and the continued support from Drought Angels are amazing and will help immensely in restoring our property and mood.
"Meeting Guy and Jules was the culmination of this special experience, especially for my girls who are big fans."
Matt Furlong, Country Manager for Amazon Australia added: "We are delighted to have worked with Guy and Jules Sebastian to give the Middleton that special moment they deserve this Christmas."
Jenny Gailey, Director of Drought Angels, summarized: “2020 has been a special challenge for Australian farmers, from natural disasters to financial difficulties.
"It makes a huge difference for Amazon Australia to step in and help us bring relief and the much-needed joy before the holiday season."
