Magic Eraser ™
Perhaps the easiest is to buy a Magic Eraser. It works pretty well most of the time, but they're expensive. It also doesn't work well with colored crayons. Magic Erasers aren't suitable for textured walls, and many generic brands don't seem to work as well.
Goo Gone™
If you want to try another product that you can get in store, Goo Gone is a good choice. Place something from Goo Gone on a paper towel. Rub it on the crayon. It generally comes out with minimal effort.
Since it is oil-based, Goo Gone leaves oily residue on your wall. Use hot water and dish soap – I like DAWN ™ – to wash and rinse the area. Not a good choice for flat wall paint.
baking soda
Baking soda is a mild abrasive. Moisten an old rag (you may need to throw it away when you're done) and put some baking soda in a bowl or on a paper plate. Dip the cloth into the baking soda. Rub the markings carefully with the baking soda. The crayon should come off without too much difficulty.
WD-40
Spray the WD-40 on a paper towel and wipe it with a clean paper towel. Do not Spray the WD-40 on the wall, it can run and leave greasy streaks. When the crayon is gone, dampen a cloth or rag with hot water and wash the area with detergent. This method is not suitable for wallpaper or fabrics, but can be used for hard furniture, cabinets and devices.
I recommend testing this in an inconspicuous area before using it.
mayonnaise
Surprise! This works great and does not require much effort. Place the mayonnaise on a paper towel and grate. Let it sit on the surface to break down the fat in the crayon for an hour or two. Rub the crayon off and wash the area with hot water and dish soap. This also works with structured walls and wallpaper.
toothpaste
This requires a non-gel-like toothpaste. Think Colgate old-fashioned white. Toothpaste is slightly abrasive and has a great cleaning power. Work it in the crayon. After removal, wash the wall well with hot water and detergent.
Steel wool pad
This works well on wallpaper, but must be used carefully.
Take a fine (0000) steel wool pad and GENTLY slide it over the colored pencil area. job ONLY in one direction. Do not rub back and forth or rub in a circle. This could rub the pattern off the paper or remove it.
QUEEN TIPS:
Use a soft toothbrush to get the cleaner into the crayon, especially on textured walls.
Use a blow dryer to heat the crayon to make it easier to remove.
