How one:
- I like feeding the birds, but squirrels are always there to fill their faces as well. Soon there will be no more bird seed.
- There are devices you can buy to scare them off, but squirrels are smart and usually find a way back to the seed. People suggest pounding the bar with petroleum jelly and other substances, but this is very messy and collects dirt and debris, resulting in an uncomfortable cleaning job.
- I use car wax to wax the pole that the feeder sits on. Apply it as you would your car.
- The squirrels jump on the pole and slide down !! It lasts a long time and can easily be reapplied when needed.

Using the car wax will not harm the birds or the squirrels.
Why it works:
The car wax makes the bar too slippery to grab and they make it slide down in slow motion.
