INTERNATIONAL
Messe Frankfurt, organizer of Texcare International 2021, invites start-ups to present their products and ideas at the Frankfurt trade fair. The world's most important event for the textile industry from November 27th to December 1st, 2021 in Frankfurt am Main offers young entrepreneurs excellent opportunities to draw the attention of the market to their innovations.
From 24-hour deliveries to status tracking and environmentally friendly packaging to textile recycling and innovative cleaning technology: New services can revolutionize the business with textile cleaners and laundries.
The demands that both private and commercial customers place on textile care are extremely high, especially in terms of speed, immediate availability, transparent communication and sustainable solutions. In this context, Johannes Schmid-Wiedersheim, Director of Texcare International at Messe Frankfurt said: “Start-ups play an important role in promoting digitization and sustainability in the world of textile care. In many cases they are quick to turn the results of scientific research or trends from other sectors into useful projects. To support this, we would like to specifically promote young, agile companies at Texcare International and offer them an attractive "start-up package". "
Digital platforms offer textile cleaners and laundries the opportunity to advertise their services online in a modern way. Daniel Dalkowski, Managing Director of the European Research Association for Innovative Textile Care (EFIT), summarized what makes these platforms so important: “Digital platforms are undoubtedly one of the most important achievements of recent times – not only because there are so many of them but also, because they have found imitators in the industry. In this case, the innovation lies in a combination of ordering, flexible logistics and billing in a smartphone app or an online platform. "
With their robotics solutions and good ideas for artificial intelligence, IT start-ups support textile care companies on their way to intelligent laundries. Elgar Straub, Managing Director of VDMA Textile Care, Fabric and Leather Technologies, explains how machine and system manufacturers have benefited from their contributions: “In the field of mechanical engineering, start-ups that offer technical solutions for a wide range of industries play an important role , e.g. B. Commissioning of virtual machines and optimization of the production process chains. "
Of course, company founders from other disciplines also contribute their ideas. In light of the plastic waste debate, there are, for example, numerous start-ups that offer biodegradable packaging materials. There are also start-ups in the textile recycling sector that process used work clothing or laundry and thus contribute to the circular economy. And what does the future of the industry look like? One thing is certain for the experts: Artificial intelligence and automation offer great potential for “outsiders” with real innovations to gain a foothold in the market. Improvements in the logistics chain of laundries and dry cleaners also have an excellent chance of success.
