My Muscle Chef tackles Australia’s ‘nutrient hole’

My Muscle Chef has launched Nutrient Rich, an “Australian-first” range of ready-to-eat, high-protein meals, “naturally rich” in essential nutrients like fibre, magnesium and iron.

According to My Muscle Chef, the Nutrient Rich range expands the brand’s offering to include nutrients critical for overall health and wellbeing, without sacrificing taste, convenience or portion control.

The launch comes as awareness grows around nutrient gaps in modern diets. A 2024 study by FOODiQ Global suggests a “significant nutrient gap” in the Australian population, reporting that 22 out of 31 essential nutrients are being consumed below recommended levels. Iron deficiencies in women are also particularly common.

Research from Australian Bureau of Statistics supports these nutrient gaps, with Australians not meeting the daily recommendations in calcium, magnesium, vitamin D and several other key macro and micro nutrients.

Developed by the My Muscle Chef dietitian and culinary teams, the Nutrient Rich range features six new meals. With a focus on iron, fibre, magnesium and protein, each meal is promoted as being crafted with nutrient-rich ingredients and balanced macros to support everyday wellbeing. The new range includes:

Rich in Iron & Fibre:

  • Thai Satay Beef – 33% iron recommended daily intake, 8.2g fibre, 40g protein
  • Beef, Spinach & Mushroom Pot Pie – 25% iron recommended daily intake, 9.1g fibre, 40g protein
  • Chipotle Beef – 42% iron recommended daily intake, 7.4g fibre, 41g protein

Rich in Magnesium & Fibre:

  • Creamy Basil & Parmesan Chicken – 75% magnesium recommended daily intake, 8.3g fibre, 41g protein
  • Mexican Pulled Chicken – 82% magnesium recommended daily intake, 9.9g fibre, 40g protein
  • Spanish Chicken – 72% magnesium recommended daily intake, 7.2g fibre, 40g protein

The new range (RRP $12.95) is now available from mymusclechef.com.
