Amazon Australia declares seasonal jobs to assist Prime Day this July

Amazon Australia has announced plans to onboard 1400 seasonal workers at its fulfilment centres (FC) and Amazon Logistics sites across the country to support the mid-year sales season, including its widely anticipated Prime Day shopping event to be held in July.

To meet the expected customer demand during this time, Amazon Australia is seeking seasonal workers to help pick, pack and ship orders to customers around the country. They will play a role in helping to provide the free and fast delivery on eligible items that Prime members enjoy, with Amazon announcing free next day delivery as part of membership in a number of cities across the country earlier this year. There are also opportunities for more flexible work arrangements around the country, delivering packages with Amazon Flex.

Amazon Australia HR Director, Operations Jacqui Marker says, “At Amazon, we are really proud of the jobs we’ve created for Australians. We offer all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people and are focused on creating a safe and inclusive workplace for them. Now, we have 1,400 roles to fill with motivated and enthusiastic people looking for a short-term role. We provide on-the-job training so no previous experience or formal qualifications are required, and Prime Day always promises to be an exciting time of year!”

Prime Day is Amazon’s annual shopping event offering discounts exclusively for Prime members on a huge range of products from everyday essentials to big-brand electronics, appliances, books, clothing, toys, homewares and more.

Prime, Amazon Australia Director Arno Lenior says, “As Australians continue to grapple with rising living costs and seek ways to stretch their budgets, we are working hard to secure huge savings for members this Prime Day. Members will be able to take advantage of deep discounts from popular brands and fantastic small and medium Aussie businesses, and enjoy the convenience of fast, free delivery on eligible items through Prime.”

Seasonal roles may present opportunities for permanent employment and start a long-term career at Amazon, accessing employee benefits including life insurance, income protection insurance, and highly subsidised private health insurance for the entire immediate family.

Australians who want to supplement their existing income and earn a little extra money can sign up to Amazon Flex and deliver Amazon packages to customers using their own vehicle. Amazon Flex provides drivers the opportunity to work when it suits them and earn additional income in their free time.

Applications are now open for roles at Amazon sites in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, SA and WA. To apply for seasonal roles, visit amazon.com/australiajobs.
