Italian coffee brand Lavazza has partnered with off-grid, sustainable accommodation provider CABN to give Aussie coffee lovers the chance to experience the best South Australia’s McLaren Vale region has to offer. The partnership celebrates Lavazza’s brand-new range of carbon-neutral Nespresso compatible capsules, a first-of-its-kind for the Australian market.
Throughout August, Australians will be able to win two nights of accommodation at the self-contained, eco-friendly and Lavazza-themed CABN X Giles.
CABN X Giles has limited availability across August until completely booked out. Australians will be able to claim their two-night stay from 1 August. For those who miss out, a second and final drop of bookings will open on August 5.
Lavazza recently commissioned research to understand Australians’ sentiment towards carbon-neutral products and sustainable living practices.
“Speaking to 1000 Aussies, the results found that nearly 90 per cent of Australians have heard of ‘carbon neutrality’, however one-in-two Aussies (49 per cent) are not sure what carbon neutral means.
“Interestingly, over 65 per cent of Aussies say they take steps to actively reduce their carbon footprint. The top three actions Australians took to reduce their carbon footprint were separating rubbish from recycling (80 per cent), taking public transport/driving less (45 per cent) and flying less (30 per cent).”
Lavazza’s carbon-neutral aluminium capsules mark yet another milestone for Lavazza Group’s ‘Roadmap to Zero’, a sustainability mission which aims to achieve total carbon neutrality by offsetting all direct and indirect emissions generated along the entire value chain. The carbon-neutral aluminium capsules are compatible with all Nespresso Original machines.
Lavazza Marketing Director APAC Mimmo Orlando says: “Since the inception of our ‘Roadmap to Zero’, we’ve made great progress towards our global sustainability goals. The launch of our carbon-neutral capsules in Australia is another exciting step forward.
“By partnering with CABN, we hope to give our Australian customers a sustainable stay away, while showcasing the benefits of prioritising sustainability in their everyday lives. This includes the type of sustainable compatible coffee capsules they can enjoy both in the cabin and at home. We are excited that our customers who take up the offer will be among the first in the nation to try our carbon-neutral capsules and indulge in the smooth, delectable flavours and excellence for which we are famously globally renowned.”
CABN founder and CEO Michael Lamprell added: “Not only are CABN and Lavazza aligned when it comes to our sustainability efforts, but we are impressed by Lavazza’s commitment to striving for a better world.
“At CABN, we are early adopters of the regenerative tourism principles and can’t wait for Aussies to claim their stay and really embrace it wholeheartedly during their time with us.”
Lavazza’s range of carbon-neutral capsules is now available on Lavazza’s online store, Coles and Woolworths.
