An Arduino Pro Mini 3.3V is the base you need to build the automated mechanism with. A soldering iron and 3D printer are also needed to build your own automated blinds, among various other components.

If you've already had experience successfully developing Arduino-based products and are ready for a new challenge, a home security alarm system could be your next step. Just like a store-bought alarm, this Arduino-based system is able to detect movement and activate a piercing sound to warn you of an intruder. The alarm can be reset or turned off with a password like a traditional intruder alarm system.
