Quick way to steam your oven with lemon juice
Quick way to steam your oven with lemon juice
How one:
- Fill a 2 liter pan with water, add the juice of two lemons and add the lemon halves as well. If you don't have fresh lemons, use about half a cup of bottled lemon juice.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
- Bring the water / lemon to a boil on the stove, then carefully place it in the oven on the wire rack.
- Close the door.
- After 1 hour, turn off the oven and leave the pan in the oven for about an hour with the door closed.
- Carefully remove the pan – the water may still be hot.
- Use the cooled lemon water and some baking soda on a scrubbing sponge to clean the oven.
- If necessary, use a brush for small areas. A nail brush works great.
- Rinse as needed.
Linda says:
This method can also be used with self-cleaning ovens without damage.
Why it works:
The steam from lemon juice and water softens the dirt and makes it easier to wipe off. Lemon is a natural bleach and disinfectant, making it perfect for cleaning prep and cooking areas.
