Social commerce to extend gross sales for Australian suppliers

BuyersCircle, a leader in social commerce solutions, is partnering with a Tasmanian free-range pork producer to sell traditional-breed pigs on BuyersCircle e-tailer networks for consumers to pre-order for the 2021 Chinese New Year.

Phil and Selina farm rare and traditional free range pigs and are ONE of the largest free range pork producers in Tasmania. Phil and Selina had always sold their high quality pork products within the state, but everything changed in January 2021 when Phil discovered a new social shopping platform called BuyersCircle and its large e-tailer network. Phil sold 80% of the shares in Sydney for the first time through BuyersCircle within 48 hours.

By accessing the platform from his cell phone in Tasmania, Phil and Selina were now connected to over 650,000 Australian Chinese consumers looking to purchase quality local products to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Within 48 hours, the BuyersCircle platform assigned 5 BuyersCircle e-tailers in Sydney to 10 traditional pedigree pigs (a total of 500 kg).

BuyersCircle is a social commerce platform with over 650,000 customers and over 14,000 e-tailers. BuyersCircle e-Tailers advertised the Heritage pigs as pre-sale items for their community buying group. 80% of the stock was sold out within 48 hours.

Seeing the potential new social commerce platform for a large number of Australian producers, Phil and Selina reached out to BuyersCircle in late 2020.
