Help your dryer dry clothes more effectively, thus reducing the risk of fire.
How one:
- Clean It After Each Use You should clean the lint trap in your dryer before or after each use. It is a good habit to get involved with it even with small loads. If you make it a part of your routine, the chance of accidentally forgetting about it is much less likely.
- Removing lint from the filter is not enough. The lint trap also needs to be cleaned to remove residue from the dryer fabric softener films and sticky detergent residue that is blocking the air flow.
- Once a month Once a month it is a good idea to remove the lint trap and wash it well.
- Put the filter in hot soapy water and let it rest for about 10 minutes.
- Then gently scrub it with a sponge or soft brush.
- Rinse it out well.
- Let the trap dry completely before putting it back in your dryer.
Linda says:
Why clean
Lint will build up on the trap and cause a blockage that will prevent air from flowing through the trap. This slows down the drying of clothes and wastes energy and time. It can also contribute to a dryer fire.
