Foodland is spreading the love this holiday season by donating $ 41,000 to the Vinnies Women & # 39; s Crisis Center.

The donation will be used to finance a new playground and a protected area outdoors and to support the renovation of the dining room.

Foodland has partnered with Romaldi Builders, who will provide the workforce for the Crisis Center project, and Miter 10, who also provided a $ 5,000 material donation.

"We know the tragic statistics on domestic violence – not just in Australia, but in South Australia alone," said Franklin dos Santos, chief executive at Foodland Supermarkets.

“This is such an important thing and we know that in such a difficult year, people need these services more than ever. Especially until Christmas. "

Mr dos Santos says the changes will ensure that the shelter is a safe haven for those who need it and that children in the center also have a place to play.

The US $ 41,000 donated came from the Foodland Community Chest Fund and from shoppers purchasing products from the Community Co range.

"We love the support and care for the local community that supports us. Therefore, we are happy to help help the center in any way we can."
