High shopper preferences this Black Friday & Cyber Monday

Black Friday and Cyber Monday (November 27th and 30th) will attract healthy spending before Christmas.

However, Hubbed shows that customer preferences are likely to change during the four-day shopping spree this year.

“From our research, we know that the focus remains on sustainability, preferring delivery to locations that reduce logistics, carbon emissions and traffic congestion,” said David McLean, CEO of Hubbed.

Hubbed commissioned a survey to find out what shopping preferences consumers have.

Some of the new customer preferences retailers can expect this Black Friday and Cyber Monday include:

  1. Buyers will be looking for small Australian brands and stores.

A Hubbed survey shows that 82% of online shoppers say they are now more likely than ever to shop with small businesses in hopes of helping the small business sector recover. 95% of respondents would like large retailers to source their shares from smaller companies.

  1. They prefer retailers and brands with low carbon footprint.

87% of shoppers want online retailers and courier companies to keep looking for ways to reduce carbon emissions.

Customers are fed up with receiving multiple shipments from one order. 56% of Aussies would like retailers to consolidate shipments from a single order into one shipment, or to encourage consumers to recycle their packaging.

22% of online shoppers had to arrive late to work or leave early to pick up packages, and 41% left packages at a pickup point for days because they couldn't pick them up during business hours.
