The Danish company Beirholms Væverier and the German-Dutch company Dibella, a leading supplier of hotel textiles in Europe, have initiated a circular collaboration with the Swedish company Reused Remade, which is known for its climate-friendly textile bags made from reused hotel bed linen.
Together, they will extend the life cycle of hotel textiles and contribute to the circular economy by upcycling discarded textiles from laundries and turning them into new textile bags for retailers.
In Europe, millions of tons of hotel bed linen are thrown away every year and can no longer be used in hotels due to wear and tear. Thanks to Reused Remade's patent-pending method of converting hotel bed linen into climate-friendly textile bags, enormous amounts of natural resources are saved. Since the textiles are not thrown away but reused, the partnership offers a climate-friendly alternative to today's disposal of textiles.
By 2025, all EU member states will have introduced an extended producer responsibility for textiles (EPR for textiles). This will place demands on the industries concerned to find intelligent solutions together and to contribute to the transition to a circular economy. Beirholm and Dibella attach great importance to sustainability and are constantly looking for new and intelligent solutions for their customers' discarded textiles. The aim of this partnership is to give more laundries in Europe the opportunity to join the Reused Remade circular solution.
Reused Remade's climate-friendly textile bags are now available from well-known Nordic and European retailers such as Edeka, Clas Ohlson, Ica and Systembolaget.
“The goal for 2021 is to collect 300 tons of hotel bed linen in order to meet the demands of our customers. It feels fantastic to work with Beirholm and Dibella, whose sustainability values we share. We see that together we can make a big difference for our environment, our climate and our common future, ”say Pia Walter and Josephine Alhanko, in the picture, founders of Reused Remade.
