Frucor Suntory has announced the appointment of Joanne Van Den Berg as Head of Safety & Wellbeing.
Joanne Van Den Berg is the new safety and wellbeing manager at Frucor Suntory.
Ms. Van Den Berg, based in Auckland, will play a key role in Frucor Suntory's People Leadership Team.
She is enthusiastic about the continuous improvement of the health and safety culture at Frucor Suntory.
Ms. Van Den Berg has an extensive background in safety and wellbeing. She held a number of safety roles with Air New Zealand and in the Department of Corrections where she led their Safety Business Partnering role.
In the recent Covid-19 pandemic, Ms. Van Den Berg led the safety and wellbeing response in the corrections department, where close collaboration and agile thinking were key to ensuring the department could work safely and people could be supported.
While at Air New Zealand, Ms. Van Den Berg led the Health and Safety Employee Participation and Engagement strategy project.
The two-year project focused on empowering the airline's occupational safety officers to foster an engaging safety culture.
At the Safeguard Awards 2019, WorkSafe New Zealand / ACC was recognized as the best overall contribution to improving health and safety at work in New Zealand.
As Frucor Suntory's new Safety and Wellbeing Director, Ms. Van Den Berg's mission is to nurture people's passion for health and safety and wellbeing and enable better work in a healthier and safer work environment.
