v2foods debuts in Drake's supermarkets

V2foods is responsible for offering Aussies a range of herbal products that are similar to meat options. V2foods has just announced its debut at Drakes Supermarkets.

For the first time, the vegetable products v2mince and v2burgers are available in the supermarket in the meat aisle.

This exciting announcement means Aussies have the option to buy herbal v2 products and cook them at home. As of today, the general public can find the products in all 61 Drakes Supermarkets stores in South Australia and Queensland. This makes Drakes the first major retailer to sell vegetable meat from v2food.

“V2food sees no end to some meat dishes at the dining table, but only if we encourage buyers to choose plant-based alternatives can we sustainably feed the growing world population – which is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050. ”Said v2food founder and CEO Nick Hazell.

"So it's incredibly encouraging that a retail leader like Drakes is taking the initiative to get vegetable meat into the meat aisle."

John-Paul Drake, Director of Drakes Supermarkets, explains: “We are very happy to have v2mince and v2burger as an Australian plant-based alternative in the meat aisle and to be v2's first supermarket partner.

“Plant-based meat is becoming increasingly popular across Australia and customer demand is growing. We know that they will be happy to be the first in Australia to buy the products on our shelves.

"When I tried the v2 products for the first time, I thought it was real meat!"

The RRP for v2mince is $ 8.50 and the RRP for v2burger is $ 9.00. For the latest list of places with v2foods, go to the Where to Buy tab on the v2food website.
