Today, World Chocolate Day, Mars Wrigley announces that it has strengthened its local manufacturing capabilities by investing over $ 300,000 to bring new technology to its Ballarat, Victoria chocolate factory.
The investment in the production of M & M & # 39; S Pretzel that brings the salty and sweet delicacies to Australia for the first time. In addition, the recent investment extends the Ballarat factory's ability to create filled M&Ms and explore other M&M innovations made in Australia.

This latest project is part of our long-term effort to further advance and develop our core bitesize brands that we manufacture locally in Ballarat, ”said Andrew Leakey, General Manager of Mars Wrigley Australia.
The Ballarat plant is currently capable of producing over five billion M & Ms a year – a distance equivalent to 3.5 times (56,000 km) traveling through Australia. M & Ms Prtezel is the latest addition to its local production line.
The investment follows the 40th anniversary of the Ballarat plant that was celebrated in November last year and builds on the $ 14 million invested in the Ballarat plant to maintain operations in 2018 and to improve.
M & M’S Pretzel will be available in major supermarkets nationwide next week, first in Coles (f / c July 13) and then July 28 in Woolworths.
