Laundromats are important within the Covid 19 disaster, in response to the CLA

United States
The Coin Laundry Association in the United States has released a video that highlights how laundry owners are increasingly caring for their customers and their communities.

Access to clean clothing has never been more important than during the Covid 19 pandemic, the association says, pointing out that tens of millions of families rely on laundries every week to get clean clothes and laundry.

More than 120,000 laundromat guards in the United States are joining food workers, delivery staff, public transportation workers and other frontline workers who are ready to serve their communities in the face of this crisis.

Laundromat managers are essential. To ensure the safety of customers and employees during the crisis, laundromat owners offer innovative ways to follow the best guidelines from public health experts. This includes extensive cleaning and disinfection processes and helping customers maintain social distance when washing.

In a report about the video launch in Planet Laundry, Brian Wallace, President and CEO of CLA, was quoted as saying: “We are proud to be able to release this video today as a small token of our appreciation for the hardworking laundromat owners and their companions, as well as for the families who publish them support our business. "

The video shows pictures of companions who disinfect washing machines and dryers, as well as hard surfaces such as door handles and folding tables. Also evident are the new social distance guidelines that are being used in laundromats to ensure everyone's safety and help customers maintain the highest levels of hygiene during the coronavirus pandemic.

"The laundromat industry has taken on the Covid-19 challenge by putting customers and their wellbeing first," added Brian Grell, executive vice president of Eastern Funding. "Laundromats are more important than ever to keep our neighborhoods safe and clean."

Laundromat owners, equipment dealers and manufacturers – and everyone involved in the industry – can access this special video at https://vimeo.com/425555919. The CLA encourages viewers to post the link on their websites and share them through their social media channels.
