Riverina Fresh, a dairy partner of over 5000 cafes in Victoria, New South Wales and the Australian capital, had to look for alternative channels due to restrictions in the hospitality industry.
Talks with supermarkets began and within 72 hours Riverina Fresh had expanded its retail space with a selection of its milk on the shelves of 180 Woolworths stores in Victoria and 100% of the stores in NSW and ACT.
"The panic buying had arrived, so we took the opportunity to work with Woolworths, regional Coles, and independent retailers to keep quality Australian products on their shelves," said Rob Collier, CEO of Riverina Fresh.
"We are a 100% Australian-owned dairy that understands tough times and has helped our farmers with the drought in the Riverina for the past three years."
Riverina Fresh sought to work with its customers outside the home channel and use Riverina Fresh refrigerators for milk and cream to enable cafes at their own linchpin from the restaurant to the local pantry.
The company's linchpin has given the brand an expanded retail presence in all NSW and ACT Woolworths.
The brand is currently actively investigating the establishment of a home delivery channel in Melbourne and Sydney as well as other partnerships with independent retailers.
