Removing PET HAIR from fabrics and upholstery

As seen on 3TV / Good Morning Arizona – Monday, November 30, 2020 – 8:45 am

We all love our cats and dogs, but this pet hair can be a challenge removing it from household surfaces. There are several ways to remove it.

Use a damp sponge first. Wring it out in cold water and rub it on upholstery and other areas of the fabric. Keeping the sponge clean and rinsed, wipe it off until the hair is gone. Remember that the sponge should only be damp.

You can also put on a pair of rubber gloves and rub them over any surface with cat or dog hair. Keep them rinsed off while you go.

You can buy a large eraser sponge called a soot and dirt removal sponge. This is used dry to remove dirt, grime and hair from hard surfaces and fabrics. Just rub it over the area and it will pick up the hair. The sponge is always used dry, but can be washed and allowed to air dry to keep it clean.

You can also use a used dryer fabric softener sheet. Wipe the surface to remove the pet hair.

I found a product that is available on Amazon that is really good.

ChomChom Roller removes pet hair without tape or pads and catches it in a dust bin so you can throw it away.

Just roll it back and forth and sideways across upholstery, car interiors, bedding, clothing or fabrics. Hair is caught in the trash can and you can dispose of it by throwing it in the trash. I was doubtful, but it worked really well.
