The natural dairy farmer joins Australian Natural as director

The Australian Organic Board welcomes the new director, organic dairy farmer Jane Campbell. Ms. Campbell will temporarily take over the position from former board member Leo Watling.

With more than 20 years of experience in organic dairy farming, Ms. Campbell divides her time between the two farms she runs with her husband Ian.

The two operations include Barambah Organics in Goondiwindi, Queensland and East Coast Sustainable Dairy in Raleigh on NSW's central north coast. She also oversees the manufacturing facilities in Darra, Brisbane.

"We are very pleased to welcome Jane as she has a high level of experience in the dairy industry that we have not had at board level," said Niki Ford, CEO of Australian Organic.

“The Australian organic dairy sector is a significant part of the industry, so Jane's expertise will be invaluable.

“Leo was a fantastic board member last year. As the founder of the Apples and Sage retailer, however, he had to temporarily step down from his position due to the additional business requirements that COVID-19 brought with it. He intends to return to the board as soon as possible. "

The Mayor of Bellingen Shire, Dominic King, and Shire General Manager, Liz Jeremy, recently visited the Raleigh store to welcome Barambah Organics to the region and were impressed with the website.

Ms. Campbell says: “The council is fully concerned with both economic development and intelligent, science-based organic farming practices.

"Given that we are also managers of an 80 hectare, breathtaking, unspoiled subtropical rainforest with an extremely valuable carbon sink, the Council was assured that this unique area will be carefully preserved."
