Starting Wednesday, July 29, customers will be offered a free $ 30 Coles Little Treehouse ™ book for a transaction at Coles Supermarkets, Coles Express, and Coles Online.
"We wanted to find a committed and sustainable way to bring joy and hours of entertainment to Australian households," said Lisa Ronson, Coles' chief marketing officer.
“Our research shows that 83% of Australian households often encourage children to read, but only 22% buy books so that children can read them. As a supermarket, we know that with these fantastic little books, we can reach millions of our customers every week to read and enjoy with their children. "
From Wednesday, Coles will also start its first picture book competition that encourages Australian children to get creative and develop their own fictional book. Coles' partnership with the Indigenous Literacy Foundation gives great prizes to students and their schools, as well as thousands of book donations to schools and remote indigenous communities.
Each contribution to the picture book competition corresponds to a new book donated to a remote indigenous community. The ILF is helping to improve the lives of indigenous families in need by donating thousands of new books to communities where there are no libraries or bookstores.
Each book in the Coles Little Treehouse ™ series contains additional pages of activities and jokes for additional entertainment. The paper and packaging used to make the books are from FSC and, like any paper product, can be recycled at home.
