PepsiCo Appoints New APAC CEO

PepsiCo has announced that Wern-Yuen Tan has been appointed CEO for Asia Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and China (APAC) and will oversee all PepsiCo activities in the region.

Mr. Tan, who will take up his new position on June 15, will be based in Singapore and report to PepsiCo's CEO, Ramon Laguarta.

Prior to joining PepsiCo, Mr. Tan was President and CEO of Walmart China, where he led a team of 100,000 people responsible for annual sales of over $ 10 billion in the Walmart, Sam & # 39; s Club, and E-Commerce businesses were responsible. During his tenure, he led Walmart China through a period of change to become an "industry pioneer" for omnichannel innovation and retail digitization.

Before joining Walmart in 2017, Mr. Tan was MD of McDonald & # 39; s Taiwan, where he gained experience in the food service sector. At the beginning of his career, he was a principal at the Boston Consulting Group, where he advised retail and consumer clients on growth strategy, innovation and turnarounds. Mr. Tan started his career in the Singapore government.
