Chicago-based CD One Price Cleaners has expanded its free laundry service to healthcare, police, fire and emergency services personnel so they can rest, refresh, and stay focused on serving the community by the end of May.
So far, CD One Price Cleaners has cleaned 25,000 pounds of laundry for almost 1,000 healthcare workers and first aiders free of charge.
Since the end of March, the brand has offered all healthcare workers, police officers, firefighters or paramedics on the front line, with a valid ID in the participating stores, a free laundry service for washing and folding, including 20 pounds of laundry, sorted, washed, dried and folded weekly for free . This offer has now been extended to May 31st.
"This is the least that our brand and franchisees can do to continue to support those at the forefront," said co-founder and CEO Rafiq Karimi Jr. "It has been and is an honor to be able to give something back to our community and what more importantly, enabling our healthcare workers and first responders to continue to focus on the health and wellbeing of our community. "
As a key service, all 36 CD One Price Cleaners have remained open, and the brand has set itself the goal of keeping its workforce and customers healthy. Many provide access to 24/7 Express Drop Boxes that minimize contact and interaction with CD One employees and other customers. In addition, some stores offer roadside pickup to further minimize contact.
CD One Price Cleaners is located in the suburbs of Chicago. The company, founded in 2001, operates 36 franchise and company-owned locations in the Midwest.
