Swiss bells open Kardex’s new Sydney premises

In honour of Kardex’s Swiss roots, the opening ceremony started with songs played on traditional Swiss Alphorns, with Swiss Consul General Elisabeth Bösch Malinen in attendance. This was followed by speeches from the Consul General, Kardex Head of Commercial for Remstar Alan Gemmell, and Daniel Hauser, Kardex Head of the AutoStore Solutions Business Unit. MC for the event was Grant Smith, Kardex Director of Business Development AutoStore ANZ, who played a key role in establishing the new office.

The subsequent ribbon cutting ceremony was accompanied by a ringing of Swiss bells and group photographs, before guests were treated to live demonstrations of Kardex’s Vertical Lift Module (VLM) and the AutoStore Grid in action at the new Kardex showroom. Finally, the day finished with lunch and networking with automation experts from Kardex for both Remstar and AutoStore.

Kardex automated storage and retrieval solutions take centre stage

Kardex is the “fastest growing” global AutoStore integrator. The cube-based AutoStore automated storage and retrieval (ASRS) system is a modular, high-density, flexible order fulfillment solution. The world’s fastest ASRS, AutoStore dramatically increases throughput, maximises storage space, and has the flexibility to adapt and scale to meet changing business needs.

In addition, Kardex Remstar showcased its goods-to-person VLM, which features an enclosed shelf-based storage system. Designed to increase capacity in a more compact footprint, the modular VLM is easy-to-use and increases productivity by delivering goods directly to the operator.

Kardex Head of Commercial for Remstar Alan Gemmell says, “We have had a great day at our new premises, generating excitement about the potential our intralogistics solutions offer companies in Australia to improve the efficiency, safety and scalability of their operations. The new office provides an excellent resource, with a showroom, expert staff and a prime location in Lidcombe Business Park. It demonstrates our commitment to the Australian and New Zealand market, as well as our desire to provide our customers with the best possible localised support and the automation solutions that work for them.”

Kardex Head of the AutoStore Solutions Business Unit Daniel Hauser says, “At Kardex we work closely with our customers to support them throughout their automation journey. We are delighted to expand our presence in Australia, and we are seeing a real appetite among businesses of all sizes for the AutoStore system. Our widening portfolio of innovative purpose-built tools to enhance AutoStore systems sets us apart from our competitors, speeding up, eliminating errors and futureproofing warehouses. It is one of the key reasons we are the world’s fastest-growing AutoStore integrator.”
