Cadbury is appointed the official chocolate partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams
CADBURY Australia is pleased to announce that the brand is an official partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams for the Tokyo 2020 Games.
Tokyo 2020 is the third Olympic game in a row for CADBURY and the second Paralympic game after its extremely successful campaign in Rio 2016.
As part of the partnership, CADBURY will continue to be the official chocolate partner of the two teams prior to and during the games. The 2020 Summer Olympics will be held in Tokyo, Japan, and will start on July 24th through August 9th. The Summer Paralympics 2020 will take place from August 25th to September 6th.
From April 2020, CADBURY will bring the Australians together to celebrate the legendary sporting event through a range of marketing activities, including in-store promotions, PR and bottom line advertising.
Paul Chatfield, Marketing Director at CADBURY Australia, said: “We are very excited to be working with the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams this year and we are proud to be helping Australia's hard-working and passionate athletes prepare for Tokyo for the third time in 2020 . ”
The Australian Olympic Committee is equally excited about the partnership. Matt Carroll AM, CEO of the Australian Olympic Committee, said: “As the Tokyo Olympics have been closest to home games since Sydney 2000, we are delighted to have Cadbury back on board to support our Australian Olympic team. Without Cadbury's efforts, our athletes in all sports would not be able to fulfill their Olympic dreams. "
Lynne Anderson, Chief Executive of Paralympics Australia, said: “Paralympics Australia is delighted to welcome Cadbury to the Australian Paralympic family for the second year in a row.
Cadbury made a huge contribution to our team in the run-up to Rio and was undoubtedly part of our success on the world stage. We look forward to having her by our side as we strive to achieve even bigger things in Tokyo. "
