SIA appoints two new administrators

Seafood Industry Australia (SIA) has appointed Catherine Sayer, CEO of Food South Australia and Stephaine Kaparos, CEO of Clamms Seafood to its Board of Directors.

On behalf of the SIA Board of Directors, Chairman Chauncey Hammond is pleased to announce the two new appointments.

"We look forward to your contribution to both SIA and the interests of the broader Australian fishing industry in the years to come," he says.

Ms. Sayer says that she has worked in the fishing industry for many years in many sectors and in many roles as an industry representative, fisheries management team and on government boards and committees.

"The South Australian fishing industry is a critical sector in our state and I am very much looking forward to being on the SIA Board of Directors to support the entire fishing industry at the national level," she says.

"As CEO of Food SA, I have more than 10 years of experience in leading a top committee and I look forward to making a meaningful contribution to further building the success of SIA."

Regarding her appointment, Ms. Kaparos said she was thrilled to have been selected as a member of the SIA Board of Directors.

“I would like to thank SIA and the seafood community for supporting my nomination. It is a privilege to be elected director. I appreciate your trust in me to realize the strategic vision and drive the success of SIA, ”she says.

"I look forward to contributing my wealth of knowledge and experience, especially in the post-harvest area, in order to offer SIA and the entire industry a practical and pragmatic approach."

Mr. Hammond added, “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank SIA Vice Chairman Marshall Betzel and Belinda Wilson, who are stepping down from their positions on the SIA Board, for their contributions over the past four years. Without them we wouldn't be where we are today.

“The caliber of candidates for the directors' election was exceptional and I would like to thank everyone who applied. For such a young club, we know how happy we are to have so much support and interest. "
