Whittaker’s partnered with New Zealand brand Pic’s Peanut Butter to bring a peanut butter and jelly chocolate block to market.
Encased in Whittaker's “super smooth” 33% cocoa milk chocolate, the product has “salty, smooth” peanut butter on one end and a “tart, fruity” boysenberry jelly on the other.
"Whittaker chocolate lovers can enjoy the delicious taste of the pieces filled with peanut butter or boysenberry jelly, or stack them together to make their own peanut butter and jelly sandwich," says Whittaker's co-CEO Holly Whittaker.
"With different flavors at each end of the block, there's a fun element of discovery for those who like both flavors or a combination of them, or for sharing between people with different taste preferences."
Like all Whittaker chocolates, the Peanut Butter & Jelly Block is advertised as a "bean-to-bar" production at the Whittaker factory in Porirua, New Zealand, and is also Rainforest Alliance certified.
In addition, the company prides itself on sourcing the key ingredients for its fillings on site.
"As a New Zealand chocolate maker, we're excited to be helping the locals by using delicious peanut butter made by our friends at Pic’s in Nelson," said Ms. Whittaker.
“The jelly filling is also associated with the region and uses a fresh boysenberry juice concentrate with fruits that are grown in the warm Nelson sun. This means that our Peanut Butter & Jelly Block is really a distinctive kiwi version of this classic taste. "
Whittaker's Peanut Butter & Jelly Block will be available in Coles, Woolworths and Big W stores nationwide starting October 11th.
