As homeowners, we know the importance of keeping our homes clean. There is one thing that some homeowners may overlook and that is the cleaning equipment in our home. There are important reasons why you should clean them, and there are ways you can get it right. Here are some essential gadgets to keep clean in your home and how to clean them!
light switch
Light switches are a device that receives most of the traffic and germs in our home. It is so important to clean light switches regularly to make sure you keep your home aseptic. When we come from home, when we have a guest, when our children come in and out of the house, light switches are touched again and again. We overlook the cleaning of the light switches, but it's one of the places where the most germs accumulate in our home. To properly clean your light switches, use a paper towel and spray on an all-purpose cleaner. Then, wipe your light switches thoroughly to make sure you keep them clean and sterile. Make sure you do this weekly to keep your home germ and virus free!
TV remote control
Your TV remote control is another electronic device that you need to sanitize! The best way to sanitize it is to use Lysol disinfectant wipes, which kill germs instantly. They are easy to use and very effective. All you have to do is swipe down from the top of your remote and gently wipe the front of the remote and be careful between the buttons on the remote. Wipe the back of the remote control including the battery cover. The latest study by Broadband Genie says viruses thrive on technology, which means that cleaning your tech gadgets on a daily or at least weekly basis is very important! Another way to clean the remote control is to put 70% alcohol on a microfiber cloth and clean it in the same way. Wipe your remote from top to bottom between the buttons and make sure you get the back cover. Make sure you use the 70% alcohol as it surprisingly disinfects better than 91%.
House alarm system
If you have an alarm system in your home, one of the first things you touch upon entering your home is when you enter the PIN to turn the alarm off. As soon as you get home from work, school, or the mall, you bring new germs into your home and every time you touch the buttons on your alarm system, you leave new germs behind that accumulate and grow. Use Lysol wipes or 70% alcohol to thoroughly wipe the control panel of your alarm system to kill these germs immediately. You'll be glad you did!
There are tons of other things in your home that are getting a lot of traffic, so be sure to identify these areas as they can vary by household. Disinfect them, wipe them down, clean them thoroughly and you should be on your way to a aseptic home that is safe for you and your family!
