The Jensen Group achieved sales of € 245.2 million in 2020. This is a respectable business development due to the strong market position of the group and its products.
Jesper Jensen, Managing Director of the group, said: “As visitor numbers in restaurants, tourism, business and cruises declined, many industrial laundries had to reduce capacity or temporarily shut down. However, we remain realistic about the consequences of the pandemic and estimate that markets will recover by 2022. Despite lower sales, the Jensen Group remains true to its values and strategic initiatives.
Markets
“Our decision to invest in new markets including Asia creates healthy and sustainable growth opportunities. Our offer also includes individual machines as well as system solutions with different degrees of automation in order to meet all customer requirements and specifications and to help us to grow in all customer segments. The Jensen Group, in collaboration with Inwatec, Denmark, has made significant strides in securing large high-tech projects. Our joint effort expands our market offering and supports our strategy to be industry leaders and innovators in applying robotics and AI (Artificial Intelligence) to laundry automation processes. In the near future, after purchasing 30% in 2018, the JENSEN-GROUP will invest in a 40% increase in its stake in Inwatec ApS, Denmark.
innovation
“Our new product developments are aimed at reducing energy and water consumption and increasing the throughput and operating time of our devices. MetriQ, the new charging station for items of clothing, sets new standards in terms of ergonomics and productivity. It is the only system in the world that can load garments with the buttons to the front, which is particularly interesting for patient clothes and peelings.
“GeniusFlow is another example of how data can improve laundry efficiency. The user interface makes it easier to manage garments and reduces the number of late garments that have to be processed manually. Robots such as the Evolution Spider for automatically separating, feeding and inserting towels in the towel folder, as well as the THOR series from Inwatec (for both clothing and linen) are enjoying increasing popularity.
"Since there was no trade fair in 2020, all new solutions and approaches, including those for washroom and flat processing, were brought to market via virtual campaigns and social media."
Jensen concluded the report by saying, “The real test of your strength is not that you can stand in the sun, but that you can weather a storm. 2020 has presented many companies around the world with unexpected and never seen challenges. Even during this difficult time, Jensen equipment has proven to be of exceptional value and we remain a first class supplier to many of the world's highest quality laundries.
"We would like to thank the many customers who have placed their trust in the Jensen Group since the pandemic and hope that they will continue to trust us in 2021."
