Banana Swim Cross: Free entry to swimming pools across the nation

Australian Bananas launching the Banana Swim Pass, giving Aussies access to a free swim pass in partnership with Olympic champion Ariarne Titmus.

On 21 January 2026, Aussies can swim for free at around 70 participating pools across the nation for one day only. Simply buy a banana from any local supermarket or grocer and bring it along to the participating swim centre to redeem your free swim pass.

“With summer and the school holidays in full swing, the Banana Swim Pass is here to inspire families, fitness fans and friendship groups to cool off, get moving, and make your body swim.

“Australian Bananas are bursting with natural goodness, helping keep you energised, making them the ultimate snack to power you through laps, lessons or a laidback splash-about. Whether you’re heading in for a few freestyle sets or supervising the kids, a banana is an easy grab-and-go option that keeps you going in and out of the water.”

Ariarne Titmus, former Australian Olympian swimmer, said: “The Banana Swim Pass initiative is a fun way to encourage Australians of all ages to jump in and enjoy the benefits of getting active in the water. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life, and it’s something anyone can enjoy, whether you’re chasing fitness goals or just having fun and I love that everyone can rock up with a banana and get in for free. Grab a banana, hit the pool, and make your body swim!”

Australian Bananas grower Shayne Cini said: “It’s great to see Aussies turning our fruit into both their ticket to the pool and their go-to swim snack. The Banana Swim Pass is all about helping people get active, cool off and stay fuelled – and we’re proud that Aussie bananas, packed with the nutrients your body needs, can power everything from laps and lessons to a simple splash with the family right across the country.”
