Chatswood Chase welcomes customers back on 23 October 2025, unveiling a $625 million transformation that cements it as Sydney’s premier lifestyle retail destination.
The staggered 18-month project reopened Ground Floor and Level 2 at Chatswood Chase, with a commanding lineup of the best brands across fashion, beauty, lifestyle, tech and culture, delivering everything from elevated essentials to extraordinary luxury. Located in Australia’s “most affluent retail catchment with average incomes 73% above the national average”, Chatswood Chase serves “the country’s most coveted consumer audience, driving its strategy to ensure a world-class shopping experience that positions the centre at the forefront of the industry”, attracting customers from well beyond its local footprint. Opening weekend foot traffic is expected to exceed 500,000.
Innovative technology and a wave of distinguished retailers, including the first Australian location for Armani Exchange, together with cutting-edge store designs inspired by the local area, mark the beginning of the next retail experience at Sydney’s Chatswood Chase.
Retailers opening on 23 October
Reaffirming its premier position, Chatswood Chase announces a curation of more than 60 retailers – both new and returning – uniting international flagships, Australian designers, and contemporary lifestyle brands in a sophisticated yet accessible line-up.
Anchored by major retailers Apple, David Jones, MECCA, Country Road, R.M. Williams, and Sephora, the centre showcases leading Australian designers Zimmermann, and Rebecca Vallance, alongside international labels Ralph Lauren, Coach and BOSS.
David Jones Executive General Manager of Womenswear, Footwear and Accessories Bridget Veals said, “We’re thrilled to unveil the new David Jones Chatswood Chase store as part of this exciting next chapter for the centre. As the home of Australian fashion and the country’s leading premium omnichannel retailer, we’re proud to present a world-class curation of brands.
“We’re equally excited to offer a suite of premium services including personal styling suits, beauty treatment rooms featuring Clé de Peau Beauté, La Prairie and Sisley, and The Apartment, a bespoke space designed to host exclusive trunk shows and immersive brand experiences that inspire and delight.”
MECCA General Manager of Retail Sophie Wood said, “Chatswood Chase’s transformation marks an exciting new era for retail on Sydney’s North Shore, and we’re thrilled to be part of it. As a destination for luxury, culture and community, we’ve reimagined the MECCA experience to inspire – from an expanded Perfumeria and new luxury Skin Space, to the incredible brands, artistry and immersive experiences that MECCA is known for. It’s all here, and we can’t wait to welcome customers back to Chatswood Chase.”
The October reveal follows the relaunch of the centre’s food and hospitality retailers on Lower Ground in November 2024; and precedes Phase 3 of the project, anticipated for completion in April 2026.
“Vicinity’s investment in the reimagination of Chatswood Chase reflects our commitment to creating meaningful retail destinations that are uniquely curated for people who love to shop, dine and be entertained at our shopping centres. Located in the heart of one of Australia’s most affluent and vibrant communities, today’s reopening marks the beginning of Chatswood Chase’s new era, as it establishes itself as a retail destination that delivers a customer experience commensurate with the world’s best premium shopping destinations,” said Peter Huddle CEO and Managing Director of Vicinity Centres.
“I am delighted to be welcoming our loyal shoppers back to Chatswood Chase and thank them for their continued patronage throughout the development phase. A project of this magnitude and complexity would not have been possible without the support of our local community and council and without the collective development capability across Vicinity and Multiplex. I am especially looking forward to working with our retail partners – both existing and new – as we bring this asset to life and share in its success and prosperity.”
What’s on at Chatswood Chase
Upon opening, customers can expect an immersive program that celebrates community, creativity and innovation at Chatswood Chase.
Opening Weekend will commence with an abundance of celebrations, including a special evening performance from musician Budjerah. Retailers are also set to roll out the red carpet for the first customers through the doors, with complimentary matcha at Armani Exchange and floral bouquets at R. M. Williams, in addition to further exclusive retailer offers, entertainment and giveaways across the centre.
In the spirit of reimagining the retail experience, Chatswood Chase has partnered with global creative Tina Bobbe, renowned for her future-looking design work that blends the digital with the physical, to design limited-edition gifts available exclusively for first customers across the opening month, with new drops launching weekly. Tina’s works also inspire the in-centre hoarding, which visitors can enjoy when exploring the new open levels in the building.
In addition, from November visitors will be able to enjoy a program of interactive beauty, fashion and lifestyle workshops kicking off from November, led by experts and creatives, ensuring a vibrant and memorable introduction to Sydney’s newest premium retail destination.
Community and design
The redevelopment introduces a reimagined Chase: a destination that blends heritage with modernity, fostering community connection, discovery and a sense of place. Drawing inspiration from the nearby Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park, centre interiors by Hegi Design Studio showcase collectible-grade craftsmanship and architectural innovation creating a sophisticated backdrop for global luxury brands and local favourites alike. The launch campaign Welcome Home, shot by photographer and Northern beaches local Georges Antoni, celebrates local pride and acknowledges its deep roots in the Chase surrounds.
For Vicinity Centres, Chatswood Chase represents a flagship asset in its existing premium portfolio, alongside Chadstone Shopping Centre and the Queen Victoria Building. The redevelopment underscores Vicinity’s mission to redefine retail as destinations for lifestyle and culture, offering experiences that extend beyond shopping.
“Chatswood Chase represents a significant milestone in Vicinity Centres’ strategy to redefine retail as a destination for lifestyle, culture, and community. As one of our flagship assets, its redevelopment brings together world-class design, a curated retail mix, and an unparalleled customer experience. The Welcome Home campaign captures the essence of this evolution — celebrating local pride while setting the stage for the future of premium retail on Sydney’s North Shore,” says Amy Wotton, General Manager, Brand and Marketing of Vicinity Centres.
A true ‘destination of distinction’, each level of Chatswood Chase will offer customers a unique shopping experience tailored to Australia’s discerning clientele. Significant foot traffic is anticipated throughout the phased launch, culminating in the highly anticipated unveiling of the Level 1 in early 2026. This exclusive destination will feature prestigious LVMH brands and global fashion houses, establishing Chatswood Chase as Australia’s premier destination for the world’s most coveted luxury retail brands.
