Arnott’s marks 160-years of biscuit making in Australia

The Arnott’s Group celebrated 160 years of biscuit making on 5 Septe.ber with the return of its landmark charity Gala, raising over $360,000 for The Arnott’s Foundation and its beneficiary, Camp Quality.

Held at the iconic Sydney Town Hall, the event welcomed 515 guests, including representatives from Arnott’s supplier base, partners, beneficiaries, and employees, for an “unforgettable” evening of celebration, entertainment and giving.

Hosted by TV personality and Arnott’s Foundation board member Catriona Rowntree, the evening featured a comedy set by Andrew Barnett and live music from Sydney’s LaFiesta Sound. The program included raffles, pledges, and both silent and live auctions – including the auction of two gold-coated Tim Tam packs, which sold for $10,000 each.

The funds raised will directly support 240 families to attend a Camp Quality Family Getaway, providing children facing cancer and their families with a much-needed opportunity to rest, reconnect and recharge.

Camp Quality parents Jenny and Peter Northey travelled from Goulburn to share their story with the crowd about their personal journey following their son’s cancer diagnosis, and the life-changing impact of the Family Getaway Program.

Arnott’s Group CEO George Zoghbi said the Gala was a powerful celebration of the company’s rich legacy and deep connection to the community.

“We’re incredibly proud of the role our brands have played in shaping Australian life over the past 160 years. But more importantly, we know our success has always been built on the trust and support of the communities we serve.

“Tonight was a reflection of that enduring relationship. Our commitment to giving back is stronger than ever, and it was truly inspiring to see the generosity and enthusiasm of our partners, suppliers and employees in coming together to support Camp Quality.”

Arnott’s Foundation Chairman Matt Palmer said, “For more than 20 years, The Arnott’s Foundation has been at the heart of our business – empowering our people to give back and support those who need it most.

“We’re committed to creating delicious moments, and it’s hard to think of a more delicious moment than giving children and their families much needed reprieve during their toughest times.”

Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas said, “Our partnership with The Arnott’s Foundation over the past 20 years has raised over $5.6 million to support more than 3,000 families across Australia.

“The funds raised from this gala will allow Camp Quality to help even more families with young children in desperate need of a break from cancer. Our Family Getaways are far more than just a few days away from home, they are a lifeline. They provide much-needed reprieve from the stresses of cancer and allow families to reconnect post hospital treatment and spend quality time together.”

The Gala was proudly supported by Platinum Sponsor: The Pratt Foundation, and Gold Sponsors: Amazon, Cargill, Selpak and IVE Group, together with fifteen Silver sponsors, whose generosity helped make the night a resounding success.

The room was decorated in the Arnott’s brand colours, with an elevated birthday theme to reflect the occasion. A standalone biscuit store was activated and commemorative merchandise sold. The event was coordinated in collaboration with This Space Creative.
