IGA Quay Quarter has unveiled a brand-new state of the art independently owned supermarket located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, minutes away from iconic landmarks.
The new supermarket opened on 15 October 2024 and is located at the Quay Quarter Tower on 50 Bridge Street. The supermarket is at the centre of the Market Hall, which will allow office workers, locals and tourists alike to drop in for a quick meal or to complete a full shop.
IGA Quay Quarter will have a strong focus on delivering a fresh and high-quality offering across all departments and will include:
- A wide selection of quality seasonal fresh produce and healthy and organic products.
- Specialty Asian products that are hard to find in regular supermarkets.
- A vibrant selection of flowers, perfect for last minute gifting.
- A liquor section with carefully curated wines (luxury and vintage wine).
- All the great value and promotional offers that you can expect from IGA stores.
From humble beginnings, owners and lifelong friends Jim Hu and Guoxiong Li (Jim and Lee) first opened an IGA store in Circular Quay in 2008. They were well known for displaying their direct phone number at the front of the store, so local shoppers could share their feedback with them. They now own IGA Rosebery and IGA Waterloo and are looking forward to coming back to where they began their retail career in Circular Quay.
IGA Quay Quarter store owners Jim and Lee said: “We are very excited to open our doors in Circular Quay again after our original store closed at the end of 2017. We have worked incredibly hard to create a new supermarket that will provide value, convenience and a variety of products for our city shoppers. From a large offering of convenience meals, to tailored Asian ranges across the supermarket, there is something for everyone at our new store.”
IGA Quay Quarter is located in the Market Hall on Retail Level 2, Quay Quarter Tower, located on 50 Bridge Street with entries via Young Street and Phillip Street.
IGA Quay Quarter is open Monday to Friday between 7am – 8pm and every Saturday between 8am – 8pm.
