Garnier's Buy One, Plant One initiative is back for 2021 and will see up to 100,000 trees planted across Australia.
For every Garnier product sold at Coles nationwide (both supermarkets and online), Garnier will support the planting of a tree from September 29th to November 2nd through Carbon Positive Australia, an Australian charity that works to restore degraded soil begins through ecologically sensitive planting.
Garnier Marketing Director Jane Hanger says the initiative plays an important role in the company's broader sustainability goals, seeking to help consumers make more sustainable choices to protect the planet for future generations.
"At Garnier we believe in a holistic approach to sustainability and are committed to reducing our environmental impact at every stage of the Garnier value chain," she says.
“Initiatives like Buy One, Plant One in partnership with Coles enable us to empower and encourage our consumers to become part of our sustainability journey and to play an important role with us in improving and maintaining the health of Australia's natural landscape. "
Thinus Keevé, Chief Sustainability, Property and Export Officer of Coles Group, says the retailer is excited to partner with Garnier to make a real contribution to the environment, with the campaign supporting its sustainability strategy launched earlier this year.
“Our 2021 sustainability strategy focused on two pillars, Together to Zero and Better Together, and we are excited to support and work with partners like Garnier who share these goals,” he says.
“We understand that by acting together, we can now drive positive change and create a better Australia for future generations. We are therefore very pleased to be able to give something back to our customers and the environment by working with Garnier when purchasing One, Plant One Initiative. "
This year's goal of planting 100,000 trees is a significant increase over Garnier's successful 2020 Buy One, Plant One initiative, where the brand planted 8,000 trees with Carbon Positive Australia with the help of Australian consumers.
