The hot topic of cold chains will be the focus of an open industry briefing next month hosted by the National GS1 Traceability Advisory Group.
The online event will feature keynote speakers, special guests and panelists from across the supply chain, including Australian Food Cold Chain Council (AFCCC) Chairman Mark Mitchell.
"There is an increasing background of community pressure about the economic costs and environmental damage attributed to the vulnerability of cold chain systems," says Mitchell.
"You can be an important part of the solution through innovation, compliance, waste reduction and security in your company."
Participants also hear from:
- President of the World Packaging Organization, Prof. Pierre Pienaar
- Nerida Kelton, executive director of the Australian Institute of Packaging
- FIAL managing director Barry McGookin
The event is supported by the Australian Food and Grocery Council (AFGC), the Australian Logistics Council (ALC), the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources and Stop Food Waste CRC.
