KitKat goes vegan!

Plant lovers, get ready as Nestlé's new vegan KitKat will arrive in Australia this July.

KitKat V is "smooth chocolate mixed with a rice-based milk alternative that nicely balances the crispy waffle".

"Our challenge in creating a vegan-friendly KitKat was to recreate this iconic product using plant-based alternatives," said Louise Barrett, director of the Nestlé Confectionery Product Technology Center in York.

“To achieve this, we worked very hard to find the right balance between the milk alternative and coca. The result is a vegan chocolate that we are very proud of and I hope all KitKat fans will love it as much as we do. "

Joyce Tan, Nestlé's Marketing Director, added: “We saw so much excitement and anticipation from our fans when plans for the first vegan KitKat were announced earlier this year!

"We're always looking for ways to take Aussies meaningful breaks, so the KitKat team is excited to offer a delicious alternative for anyone looking to enjoy a plant-based break."

KitKat V complements Nestlé's range of plant-based alternatives such as Nescafé Gold coffee blends, plant-based MILO and plant-based condensed milk alternatives.

The vegan chocolate is available for pre-order starting today from the KitKat Chocolatory website and will be available from July 26th in KitKat Chocolatory and Woolworths Metro stores nationwide for an MSRP of $ 2.00.
