ALDI's Choceur chocolate tastes like a candy victory

Canstar Blue's 2021 chocolate block rating has determined which block will take first place.

The Choceur chocolate from ALDI Australia was voted the best by the fans.

Lindt Excellence, Cadbury, Darrell Lea, Nestlè and Coles follow in the ranks. The factors included taste, range, variety, packaging design, value for money and general satisfaction.

"We are very pleased that our range of Choceur chocolate has been recognized at these awards," says Adam Millauro, Purchasing Manager for Chocolate at ALDI Australia.

“We're always happy when customers find an ALDI product they love, and we're proud that Australians with a sweet tooth chose Choceur to take the top spot.

“Our chocolate is specially made in Europe and offers ALDI customers the best quality at the lowest possible price.

"This range also uses certified cocoa from sustainable sources, which supports fair working conditions and better opportunities for cocoa farmers, their families and our planet."

How it was determined

Canstar asked more than 1000 Australian consumers to weigh the debate by answering a few questions about the chocolate blocks they have purchased over the past three months.

Additionally, according to Canstar, it's worth noting that Cadbury and Nestlè were the only two brands to beat this year's champion in terms of range diversity, scoring full marks each.

Nestlè received five stars for packaging design, while Lindt Excellence and Darrell Lea scored the same for taste.
