Chris Garside, former CEO of Compass Group UK and Ireland, has been appointed Head of Sales and Business Development for Aramark International effective May 17th. He reports to Carl Mittleman, COO of Aramark International, and takes responsibility for leading growth in 18 countries worldwide.
Aramark provides 300,000 companies with unified rental services, mats, towels, mops and toiletries in a wide range of roles that include hospitality, food service and facility management contracts.
In this newly created role, Garside will lead the company's growth agenda, with an emphasis on driving new sales to its international portfolio, supporting strategic and critical customer engagement efforts, and developing and executing a global M&A framework.
"Chris will be an incredible addition to the Aramark International team, bringing his passion for hospitality and a strong network of relationships, a proven track record and years of industry experience," said Mittleman. "Since we are focused on post-pandemic growth, there is no one better placed to help us open new doors and cement the relationships we currently have."
Garside joins Aramark after a successful career at Compass Group. As a member of the Executive Board of Compass and a respected industry leader, Chris achieved sustained year-on-year growth in Northern Europe through a balanced focus on innovation, strong net new earnings and strategic acquisitions. During his 11 years at Compass, he held various roles of progressive responsibility in the UK and Europe and has been a leader in defense, offshore, government and education.

Prior to joining Compass, Garside held various operational and leadership roles at Kingfisher PLC, a UK-based international hardware store, and Dixons Stores Group, one of the largest consumer electronics retailers in Europe.
Garside is Trustee of Hospitality Action, a London-based charity dedicated to providing vital services and support to those who work or have worked in the hospitality industry and who have faced difficult times.
Aramark International covers 18 countries of operations around the world, including the Aramark business in Northern Europe (Great Britain, Ireland and the global offshore business in Denmark, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain). Continental Europe (Germany, Spain, Belgium, Czech Republic); Asia (China, Korea, Japan); Latin America (Mexico, Chile, Argentina); and Canada.
