Arco, a provider of safety clothing and solutions for various industries, works closely with the hand protection specialist Traffi to offer Arco customers the world's first climate-neutral safety glove series that is also characterized by a longer service life.
As a signatory to the Sustainable Clothing Action Plan (SCAP), Arco is committed to reducing carbon, water and waste in all product areas. The new climate-neutral Life Extending Technology (LXT) collection from Traffi marks a new environmental standard for safety gloves and pushes Arcos forward towards a sustainable future.
The LXT range ensures that Arco customers have access to a quality glove that does not harm the needs of the environment or the health of the workers' hands. In order to achieve net zero, Traffi, together with its glove production partner, calculated the total greenhouse gases that are released during the production of its LXT glove series. The process, supported by The Carbon Consulting Company and The Sustainable Future Group, resulted in a final figure that allowed Traffi to select a globally recognized carbon dioxide reduction project to offset its emissions. With this initiative, Traffi reduced its carbon footprint for the LXT range to zero.
Thanks to the life-extending LXT technology from Traffi, the LXT cut protection range of gloves last longer. LXT gloves are certified as washable for three washes and tested according to EN388 2016 after washing. This translates into lower daily costs and helps businesses save money and reduce waste.
Danny Hobson, Head of Ethics and Sustainability at Arco, says, “Our main goal is to keep people safe. As a family business in the fifth generation, respect for people and the planet means that future generations have the opportunity to remain safe and protected. Although we are at the beginning of our greener journey, we are committed to the destination. By helping bring great initiatives like Traffi to market, we're paving the way for other manufacturers to follow suit by working together to make our planet a little greener. "
