Use frozen water balloons to keep things cool in the refrigerator. Throw when you're done

How one:

  1. This is an easy way to keep things like drinks cold in a cooler. The best part is that you can toss them when you're done.
  2. Partially fill the balloons with water. Vary the sizes. Place in the freezer to freeze.
  3. Pack the frozen balloons in refrigerators to keep food and drinks cool
  4. When you're done with them, throw them in the trash instead of taking them home. It's one less thing to move home.

Warnings and Precautions:

Be sure to dispose of the water balloons in a garbage can. This keeps them away from birds and other animals.

Linda says:

I fill the balloons with varying amounts of water so that I can put the balloons around things.

Why it works:

They stay nice and cold and firm and melt during the day; Instead of lugging home blue ice cream or ice bottles, you can toss these.

Buy the balloons from the $$ store to save money.
