Plant-based company MEET has announced that its frozen line of plant-based products will be available on 820 Coles shelves.
With 15 years of experience, MEET has worked on the taste and texture of its plant-based meat and given it a health rating of 4.5 stars.
Every third Australian is either a “flexitarian” or a meat reducer, says a study by Colmar Brunton.
As the plant-based diet increases, it is becoming an increasingly important part of the Australian export industry.
"We are very proud to partner with Coles to offer our healthy range of frozen, plant-based meat products that look, smell and taste like meat," said Matt Dunn, CEO of MEET.
"Regardless of whether you are a vegan, vegetarian or flexitarian, the whole family can enjoy our product range, which looks, smells and tastes like meat – without traces of animal products."
Charlotte Rhodes, General Manager of Dairy, Frozen and Convenience at Coles, says, “Plant-based diets have become increasingly popular over the past decade.
“At Coles, we strive to deliver only quality products to our customers. That's why we're excited to partner with MEET, an Australian-made, family-owned and operated family business, to meet the growing demand for plant-based meat alternatives in Australia. "
The range of MEET products, including meetballs and chicken tenders, will be available in participating Coles stores across the country for $ 9.50 in the frozen food section.
Products from the MEET range are also served in places like Burger Urge, Burger Love, Johnny Rockets, Hard Rock Café and others.
