The TRSA Production Manager Job Analysis report, which defines the role of the production manager (which lists the tasks, skills and knowledge required to be successful in this position), is now in the TRSA store at www.trsa.org/store available.

The analysis was conducted with consulting firm PSI (an industry leader that helps companies identify competencies, knowledge, skills, abilities and other attributes required for jobs) and was the result of peer-driven focus groups of TRSA operator members who conducted surveys more than 100 operators have put together.

The analysis supported the development of TRSA's Certified Professional Laundry Manager (CPLM) Certification Self-Study Program, which is also available in-store.

The analysis deals with the competence and comprises 38 task and 47 knowledge statements, sorted according to frequency and order of importance:

Laundry processing

Soil sorting, aisle washing, drying, finishing

management

Workflow, business, inventory control and security

Further analysis of these tasks and knowledge statements has been added in the form of a matrix showing their critical value in attaining CPLM certification. "The laundry industry is constantly evolving," said Joseph Ricci, President and CEO of TRSA. “TRSA's commitment to protecting integrity and promoting professionalism in asset and production management is critical. The need for constant professional development provides managers and trainees with the opportunity to continually improve their skills and credibility as the industry's technology and related productivity requirements become more complex.
