Oxwash, an eco laundry and dry cleaning startup, today announced a partnership with Thrift +, a new online charity donation service that allows people to give away their best old clothes. Providing super-easy donation through home collection or Collect + locations, Thrift + makes it easier than ever to donate items while raising money for charity.
In 2020, Oxwash expanded its successful Oxford-born startup to two new cities, Cambridge and London. As a result of the partnership, Oxwash customers in these areas can now receive a Thrift + donation bag in addition to their laundry collection so that they can fill themselves with items of clothing they no longer need. The full bag will be picked up by Oxwash upon delivery and then sent to Thrift +.
Oxwash and Thrift + share the core values of sustainability and circular economy. Both companies are tech-driven and industry leaders responsible for reducing the presence of fast fashion and promoting sustainable fashion. This announcement of the partnership comes shortly after the announcement of Oxwash's partnership with HURR – a platform for sustainable fashion rental.
Kyle Grant, CEO and Co-Founder of Oxwash, said, “We are working together to improve the availability of solutions that can help tackle the landfill of clothing that could be reused. The bags can optionally be ordered (free of charge) at the Oxwash checkout. Our drivers will come and pick up our customers while they wash and deliver a Thrift + bag at the same time. When we deliver the fresh laundry, we also collect the garment bag so that we can donate it at the same time.
The desire to live more sustainably as simply as possible will continue to grow in 2021, and we want to do everything we can to support this. "
Both parties are excited about this new partnership and the benefits it brings to existing and potential customers in the fight for sustainable fashion.
