TRSA recently hosted its annual Marketing & Sales Summit for executives in the linen, uniform and facility service industries. At this year's event, which took place exclusively online due to the Covid-19 pandemic, more than 100 marketing and sales professionals took part in the two-day program.
David Avrin, President of The Visibility Coach, opened the summit on November 17 with a keynote address on "How remarkably accommodating creates customer experiences that beat the competition". Avrin spoke about the importance of attracting potential customers and creating unforgettable customer experiences so that your company and brand stand out in today's highly competitive business environment. He also discussed how companies need to adapt to changes brought about by the coronavirus crisis. After his presentation, Avrin asked questions in an interactive session with the audience.
The first day of the summit ended with an overview of the TRSA restaurant safety and consumer safety awareness campaign presented by Charles Crowell of Milliken and Ben Fox of Alsco before ending with facilitated breakout sessions for conference attendees to network and exchange valuable information.
On the second and final day of the conference, the top videos of the TRSA marketing and sales video competition and the inside information on how to create them were presented. The four videos highlighted included:
CITY Clean and simple, Oelwein, IA
Ecotex Healthcare Laundry Service, Seattle
Magical Laundry, Montebello, CA.
Roscoe Co., Chicago
The participants of the Marketing & Sales Summit voted on the videos. The winner of the competition – Roscoe Co. – was announced at the after-party of the TRSA Virtual Marketing & Sales Summit, which followed the final presentation of the summit, a panel discussion with international marketing and sales professionals from both operator members and supplier partner companies. Panelists included Ryan Flaherty, Aramark; Ben Fox, Alsco; Dave Katz, UniFirst; Mark Rue, Johnson's Apparelmaster; and Darryl Williams, Landau. The panel was moderated by Andy Feldman, COMPEL. The highly interactive agenda of the summit included breakout discussions and collaboration on current topics that are unique to the linen, uniform and facility services industries and that were provided by the summit participants upon registration. During the ice-breaking portions of the event, ten summit attendees were given copies of Avrin's book, "Why Customers Go – And How To Win Them Back".
