Pony drives photo voltaic system ahead

In a year notable for its bad news, Pony has maintained and built on its belief that "only with investment and continuous improvement can our promise of quality and reliability be fulfilled to those who trust our products".

On August 6th, the company's new photovoltaic system went into operation, which reduced 34,450 kg of CO2, which is equivalent to planting more than 1,000 trees. This energy is used both for the pony's own production and for feeding into the national network.

By the end of this year, according to Pony, you could say that all machines will be made with solar energy.

And pony innovation doesn't stop there. In June, Pony finished installing two vertical bearings in its 7 meter high building. high that will store materials previously stored horizontally over 500 square meters.

According to Pony, the main advantage of a vertical warehouse is the optimization of space requirements: “You save between 80 and 90% of the floor space and volume, since a traditional warehouse has to have aisles and in particular does not use the height of the hangar when the goods are for the Collection must be at the eye line.

The picking concept is reversed, as the warehouse operator no longer picks up the goods, but the goods go directly to the warehouse worker. This is a remarkable time saver as the operators stay in the automated warehouse and don't have to move to pick up or deposit goods, but to move a lot of goods.

Another great advantage of this system is the cleanliness and organization: everything is put in drawers and the warehouse is locked, so all items are better preserved and protected.

Collection and deposit are managed directly by the system that receives data from the company management system and therefore FIFO operations are also automated. The system brings more productivity to the entire department and consequently reduces "dead times" such as moving from one shelf to another. The system presents one receptacle drawer to the operator as he moves on to the next without the operator having to wait long.
